Your private space

First thing you can see in your private space is a panel with some brief stats about the use of your account. Besides is recent activity separated
in tabs and three photos of the latest Universe selection.

Recent activity is separated in three kinds of activity:

• Activity on my pictures: Coments, notes and any other activity made by other photographer over your images.
• Acitivity on other pictures: In order to follow the conversation generated at a particular picture which does not belong to you but in which you have commented something.
• My photographers' activity: Will show the most recent uploads by the photographers in your contact list.

Also, Obture will recommend you periodically some photos that may interest you according to its content. Obture will be able to make
accurate recomendations if you keep your photos tagged in a way that they represent
the content of the image.

This section is only visible for you.

Your public space

The face you show to every other photgrapher is made by four pieces:

• Profile: Shows your personal information besides the latest photos you have shared in Obture. There is also a summary of your albums
  and the groups in which you participate. This is your presentation to every user in Obture.
• Collection: Every photo you share in Obture ordered by date is listed here.
• Groups: The groups you have joined can be seen here.
• Friends: They are the photographers at Obture which you consider better at taking pictures so you want to keep them close.

These four sections are public and can be seen by any other user.

Upload pictures

To upload pictures you must click on the button "Upload Pictures" at your private space.

In Obture we bet for high quality pictures which can be seen at a reasonable size so anyone can appreciate what a good photgrapher you are. That is why there is a list of requirements the picture must comply:

• Should be at least 780 pixels either high or wide
• Must be in JPG format
• You must be the author of it

Whenever you are sure that the pictures you are about to share comply with these requirementes it would be enough with selecting them and clicking on "Upload".

Whilethey are loading you can open other window or tab in your favorite web browser and review the Obture blog to find out the latest news.

Now, the storage limits set up for every user vary with the kind of account:

• Regular account: 200 Megabytes
• Premium account: 4 Gigabytes

My pictures

First thing you might be thinking is how to change the data of the photos you have just uploaded. Until our picture lister is ready (it will not take long) you will have to do it one at a time.

Also, over any of your pictures you will be able to

• Place notes over the picture tu highlight some details of it
• Tag with descriptive words of the content of the picture. It is essential to spend some time on this because it will help Obture to make recommendations of other pictures that may be interesting for you.
• Coment and answer the coments done by other photographers about your work
• Rotate it
• Delete it
• Edit it using the great tool "Picnik"
• Share it on other social networks as Twitter or Facebook

Anyone else's pictures

Over other user's pictures you can

• Place notes highlighting the details you consider extremely interesting
• Add them to your favorite pictures. Inside you collection exists a section in which it will show up and stay there so you can enjoy them any time you want.
• Share it on other social networks as Twitter or Facebook
• Do some contstructive criticism. Try to be respectful.

Looking up for photos

Photo search at obture is available from anywhere in the site. If you look at it, in the upper side is an input field where you can type in text. There is where you must write the words to do the search. Easy, simple and always there.

If you want to refine the search you can use advanced search. From there you will have a lot of search options which will help you to find the picture you are looking for.

Meet photographers

To look up for other photgraphers in the network you just have to access Search and select "User search"

You can search by user name or real name, as you want.
